Default Lots of PvP Questions!

Okay, PvP has REALLY got me confussed!

Here are a few questions I have:
1) Luxons and Kurzicks, what's the difference? When I talk to the Alliance Battle NPC in my Guild Hall it takes me to an area and then once I get into a party of four and join a game, it automatically sets me to the Luxon team!
2) While in an area of AB where you join a team, it teleported me to a new map without warning, is this just the game switching the arena field for more variety in AB?
3) I am constantly seeing green notices about favor for America or Europe, how do I fight for America? One assumption that I made when I first started was that Luxon was America and that the Kurzicks were Europe but then Korea would have been left out... or whatever the other places competing were @_@
4) Is there any way to have quick skermishes without having to have a whole bunch of people come into my guild as guests?
5) How do I spend luxon points on myself? I'm told that I can either give them to my guild or use them but the Balthazar faction trader only lets me trade in my Balth Faction but not my Luxon points.
6) Is the limit of my points for each faction set to 10,000? I was told that once I get 250k (or around there) luxon points that I'd earn some title... but I dont see how that's possible if the limit is 10,000.

Probably more to come... this is just the stuff I recall off the top of my head.
Also, an unrelated question:
I'm using an Air Magic ele most of the time but my damage seems to be... mediocre. My air magic is at 15 but I constantly find myself doing small amounts of damage to some classes such as warriors and dervishes, at one point I did 12 damage to an ele who was using earth magic to protect herself, despite the 100 damage and the 25% armor penitration of lightning orb. Any reason for this? Is there some way to buff up my spells?

1) You're in Luxon guild. You fight for them. There is no difference between the two.
2) Borders changed as one side gained advantage.
3) Go to Hero's Ascent. You'll play for your server (American, European, ...)
4) Never did those.
5) Cavalon or House zu Heltzer has Faction Rewards NPCs
6) There's a limit. Titles are determined based on ammount of faction you donate to alliance.

1) The real differences between the Luxon and the Kurzick are athstetic parts of the Factions story line. If you're being automatically sent to the Luxon side, that means your Aliance is Luxon.

2) Kinda, yeah. As one side (Luxon/Kurzick) wins more, it shifts the play line from one side of the map to the other, giving one side an advantage and the other side a disadvantage.

3) To gain the Favor of the Gods, you will need to win in Heroe's Ascent. And I mean the whole thing, specifically the Hall of Heroes.

4) Depends on what you mean by a "quick skirmish". If you mean a practice match for GvG, then you could in theory use Henchman I suppose, or head over to Random Arenas. I'm not really sure what you mean, though.

5) There are 2 ways to spend the Luxon points that you aquire. One way is to donate them towards your aliance, which will slowly build up a title and will aid your aliance if they are trying to capture a city in the PvE portion of the game. The other way is to trade them for Jadite Shards which are used to craft Luxon armor. I don't believe that there's any use for Luxon or Kurzick faction within PvP.

6) For Kurzick and Luxon faction, you can only have 10k. For Balthazar Faction, you can have your cap increased with certain account wide titles. You can get those titles for consecutive wins in Random Arena, GvG, and Hero's Ascent.

There are ways to buff your spells, but also consider your target and their toughness. Since magic is partially prevented by armor, an Earth ele with Lightning resistant armor, Armor of Earth, and maybe some other benefit could resist a huge amount of your direct damage. If that's the case, I'd switch targets, since you'd really just be waisting your energy on a rock hard target. Switch to a Monk or a Mesmer prehaps.

As for just plain buffing your skills, there's some skills for an Ele that will increase your attribute level. Glyph of Elemental Power, if I'm not much mistaken.

Ahhh, much thanks to you both! ^_^
How do I get to "Cavalon" and "House zu Heltzer"? I've always wanted the 15k luxon armor for my elementalist. @_@

And if I earn a title by spending luxon points in one guild, will I lose the title if I quit and join a different guild?

They are both PvE places. So, make a PvE character and play that. You'll get there.

All titles are irevokable. Once you earn them, they are yours to keep. The only exception is the Survivor title, which, when you die, no longer advances.

also, you don't get 15k luxon armor in Cavalon, you get it in leviathan pits, which is a bit further ahead and you can only get there if you do the gyala hatchery mission. same with 15k kurzick in case you ever want to get it, you get that in vasburg armory which you get there by doing the eternal grove mission, and thats the only way to get there.

1) no difference, other than what side you're on during alliance battles. I would reccomend luxon because, at least the last time I spent any amount of time in alliance battles, they had advantages on the maps being played. If you realize you like one side's armor more, I would reccomend going to that side because it is then easier to farm jade/amber as the faction is easier to obtain.

2) Every few hours (2 iirc) the maps change depending on if one side was 'pushed back'. If the luxons are doing better, than you push into kurzick territory, and fight on a new 'front' of the battle, so to speak.

3) it is reference to the hall of heroes, which is the final map of Heroes ascent. Heroes ascent is located on the battle isles, which is available by mapping there using the boat on your map. If the majority of the team is from one district (europe, america, japan, taiwan, korea) then that team has won the battle, and is one step closer to earning favor (favor granting access to fissure of woe and the underworld).

4) there are several ways. 1 is an unrated match between guilds (you challenge my guild to an unrated, we accept, we play, but no rating is on the line). Another is guild scrimmage, where you set up a scrimmage in the hall by clicking "enter battle" than choosing the scrimmage option. someone will have to accept. If the issue is guesting members, then you have to live with that unless you are 1) in the same alliance, or 2) they join your guild. Other options for quick matches include alliance battles and random arenas, and to a lesser extent team arenas.

5) Luxon faction is spent by donating it to the luxon ambassador in your guild hall, or the guy in Cavalon that exchanges 1k faction for 1 jade piece.

6) donate it to the guild hall npc to earn more towards the title (as far as luxon/kurzick faction is concerned) and you reduce the amount you have. It does cap at 10k, but you can obviously earn more after you spend some.

Ahh, thank you, I think I have a good understanding of the PvP stuff now, but just a few more quick questions >.<

1) Which chapter is Cavalon in and how far into the game is it? What would Jadeite be worth if I sold individual pieces to other people or wanted to buy them?
2) Say if I give 150,000 faction to one guild and then quit it and join another, and then donate 100,000 faction to that one, will I still earn my title or will I have to donate another 150k to the new guild to earn it?

1) It's in chapter 2. Jadeite has steadily decreased in price, I think it's ~400g at the moment.

2) It doesn't matter who you donate it to, just as long as it's the same faction.
2a) Also, donating faction for jade doesn't count torward your title, it only counts if you donate it in the guild hall.
